Guru Jewelry for Everyday

by gurunyc on October 23rd, 2009

Scott Schuman, who is one of TIME magazine’s Top 100 Design Influencers, as well as TIME magazine’s 2008 Fashion Blogger of the Year, is known for capturing great style on the world’s city streets through his camera lens. The photo below was found on his October 9, 2009 post in his blog, The Sartorialist. Schuman photographed this woman walking the streets of London because her style captured his attention.

Many people question how they are supposed to wear Guru jewelry; or many people comment that they do not have an occasion to wear Guru jewelry. As beautiful and as fine as Guru jewelry is, Guru jewelry is actually quite versatile. Take Yasmin’s look for example. The large, gold, and ethnic earrings she is wearing are paired with a tee-shirt, loosely-fit and cuffed denim jeans. Her look is casual, yet her earrings add a certain attitude that is effortlessly cool.

Glass and Antique Red Glass with Pearls Kashmir Earrings

Try pairing the Kashmir Earrings in Antique Red Glass with Pearls with a deep v-neck, gray, cotton tee-shirt and black skinny jeans. Simple, yet noticeable. Kashmir Earrings are bold and stunning but light weight for everyday wear.

These Kashmir Earrings are also available in Blue Glass and Green Glass on the Guru website ($69) and in person this month at the Madison Square Market.  Please check our events page for other in person opportunities!

If you absolutely adore a pair of earrings, don’t let the “fanciness” or the “fine jewelry” label intimidate you. Experiment and have fun with fashion!
